***4 Incidents in a Week***

  Posted on

Earlier this evening our rescue crews successfully rescued a person from the river bringing the total to four suicide related incidents on the river over the past week.

Our boat launched to a person on Rice Bridge yesterday and provided cover while the person was talked to by An Garda Síochána.

Last Saturday night, suicide prevention patrol teams assisted a person at Millennium Plaza in a distressed state.

On Thursday last, volunteers joined staff members of the The Reg Waterford in helping a suicidal person until the arrival of Gardai.

Thank you to An Garda Síochána from their prompt and compassionate response to each incident as well as Irish Coast Guard for coordinating. Also thank you to Rescue 117 & the Waterford Ambulance Service .

We hope that they get the help they need.

You are not alone.
