“WMSAR rescue boat launched

“WMSAR rescue boat and volunteer crew are currently launched on service to a broken down vessel located at Creadan Head. The operation has been ongoing since 16.00 and crews have the vessel under tow. Crews have just passing Cheekpoint at this time making their way back to Waterford City. Also tasked were our colleagues from Fethard RNLI.” Busy day on the water for all units across Ireland with the fine weather. Operations are being overseen by Irish Coast Guard MRCC.

Our crews will be out until the early hours of Sunday morning patrolling the quays of the River Suir. WIT raise and give week 2016

Waterford Marine Search and Rescue are delighted to be one of the recipients for this years “Raise and Give Week” in WIT. A total of €17000 has been raised between 4 different charities this year which is an absolutely phenomenal result. A massive thank you to Meadbh, Edel, Michelle, Ricky and Bo of WIT Students Union and of course to the students of Waterford for their help and support.

Darkness Into Light 2016

Darkness Into Light 2016 Speculator picture from Noel Browne once again of Waterford Marine Search and Rescue Boats and the HOPE Sign on the River Suir. Volunteers from Waterford Marine Search and Rescue, Waterford City Civil Defence, Irish Naval Service Waterford Branch, Order of Malta Ireland – Waterford Unit, Tramore Coast Guard, BonmahonCoastGuard, Dunmore East Coast Guard Units were on the Darkness into Light route providing safety cover and marshaling the 5K walk / run. Great multi agency effort. Crews From Waterford Marine Search and Rescue and Waterford City River Rescue were on the water providing safety cover. Roll on next year smile emoticon
